How do I crop an image?

Is this image cropper free?
Yes. There is no sign-up or watermark. Practical image size is limited by browser memory and Canvas dimensions.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping uses the Canvas API in your browser. The selected image contents are not sent to ToolkitFree for processing.
What aspect ratios are supported?
We support Free (any ratio), 1:1 (square), 16:9 (widescreen), 4:3 (standard), 3:2 (photography), and 9:16 (vertical/portrait).
What output formats are supported?
You can save your cropped image as PNG, JPG, or WebP. For JPG and WebP, you can adjust quality and compare the resulting file size.
Can I crop multiple images at once?
Currently the tool processes one image at a time for the best visual control. Upload and crop each image individually.
How is cropping different from resizing?
Cropping removes parts of the image, keeping only the selected area. Resizing changes the overall dimensions of the entire image without removing any content.
Can I crop a photo for Instagram?
Select 1:1 for square posts or 9:16 for Stories and Reels, then check the target platform's current size and display-crop requirements before publishing.
Will cropping reduce the quality of my image?
Cropping removes pixels outside the selection, then the browser re-encodes the result. PNG preserves the cropped pixels losslessly; JPG and WebP use the selected quality and may introduce compression changes.
Can I undo a crop?
If you haven't closed the page, you can re-upload the original image and crop again. We recommend keeping your original file until you're satisfied with the result.
