How to convert PNG to favicon?
Choose your PNG image. The icons are drawn as soon as it loads — there is no generate step. Pick the set of sizes you need, then download the ZIP containing them plus a webmanifest file.
What size should my PNG be?
For best results, use a square PNG that is at least 512x512 pixels. The tool resizes it to the sizes you select, out of 16, 32, 180, 192, and 512px PNG icons.
Does PNG transparency work for favicons?
Yes. PNG transparency is preserved. Non-square images are centered with transparent padding instead of being stretched. This tool generates PNG icons and does not create a favicon.ico file.
What files are included in the download?
With the default set, the ZIP includes favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180x180), android-chrome-192x192.png, android-chrome-512x512.png, and site.webmanifest. Narrowing the size set leaves out the files you did not select.
